For Writers

It may have taken me ten plus years to make it, but I've now sold over 300,000 Ebooks, and I'm adding 5,000 plus new readers each month to my D. D. Scott-ville Indie Epublishing Empire.

In this book, I'm sharing my techniques for finding readers, for building communities with them and teaching you how to keep ‘em comin’ back for more.

Indie Epublishing is all about Readers! That's it!

To be successful, you've got to first find readers and then keep 'em!

To do that, you've got to build communities around yourself and your brand. In this book, I'll show you how I've done that and continue to use that guiding principle for every business decision I make.

"People Connect with People," and that's what I'll show you how to do.

As a graduate level companion to my #1 Amazon Bestselling Book On-Writing MUSE THERAPY, you'll now get the business side of Indie Epublishing Success. Muse Therapy focuses on the creative side. So now I've given you the tools to get your pages written as well as the tools and techniques I've used to now sell over 100,000 Ebooks filled with those pages.

Even though I'm an Amazon and Barnes and Noble Top 100 Bestselling Author, I know for long-term viability, it's not just about making those bestseller lists. To be successful for the long haul, you've got to forge emotional bonds with your readers and keep 'em comin' back for more. That's how you build a sustainable Indie Epublishing Empire. And this books shows you how I've done that.

So, the next time someone tells you “You can’t do that!” think D. D. Scott and say “Oh Yeah? Watch Me!”

Treat yourself to "therapy"...MUSE THERAPY that is...

Could you use a writer's go-to-gal for muse disorders? If so, stop looking 'cause you found her. I'm D. D. Scott, a bestselling romantic comedy and humorous mystery author and muse therapist.

Here's the scoop:

Muse Therapy - D. D. Scott style - is all about injecting life into tired and/or stressed out muses. I give writers fun and fabulous tools to analyze their muses' funks, rein in their creative divas and up their page counts.

Discover what makes your muses tick. What ticks them off. And what makes them dance like nobody's watching.

We name your muses and host a very special meet-and-greet just for them, then dig deep into their psyches by examining "muse disorders" such as:

** Unleashing Your Inner Sybil

** Writing Bi-Polar: I Suck vs. I'm a Genius

** What Do You Mean I'm Neurotic? No, I'm Not. Well, Not Exactly. But Okay...There Are Times When. Like You Need To Know That. Anyway, I Was Thinking, My Jeep Is Red

** Rorschach For Writers: I See Dead Lines

** Stimulants: When Coffee, Chocolate, and Martinis Aren't Enough

Once we recognize, acknowledge and accept your muses' afflictions, we find terrific tricks and "trips" to treat our word witches.

So if your muse is in need of a tune-up, grab a comfy couch or chair and put up your feet. You're in the right session.

You’ll have a terrific time conquering your creative divas and taking back the crown of your personal Muse-ville kingdom.

P.S And if you're not sure whether or not you need Muse Therapy...

1. Your muses aren’t ticking. They’re ticked off.

2. Your muses are in a funk unable to up your page counts. They’re more like: Up Yours

3. Even great sex with (insert your partner of choice here), or a new pair of shoes, or a day at the spa, or (you get the picture) can’t rein in your creative divas

4. You feel the urge to sign-up for the following classes:

** Unleashing Your Inner Sybil

** Writing Bi-Polar: I Suck vs. I'm a Genius

** What Do You Mean I'm Neurotic? No, I'm Not. Well, Not Exactly. But Okay...There Are Times When. Like You Need to Know That. Anyway, I Was Thinking, My Jeep Is Red

** Rorschach For Writers: I See Dead Lines

** Stimulants: When Coffee, Chocolate and Martinis Aren't Enough

5. Your word witches have landed in Oz but that don’t look like no Yellow Brick Road you’re bootscootin’ on...the damn thing never ends!

6. Your ass hurts, your back hurts, your head hurts, your fingers are numb, the kids/DH/dog/cat/other family pets and family members/friends/neighbors/telemarketers/reality TV stars must have your undivided attention now and they mean now...not after your “dumb” writing timer goes off an hour later. Everyone has told you your writing is a waste of time, just a “hobby” that will never “pay-off”...Maybe they’re right.

7. You feel the urge to tell everyone listed in reason number six to (I’m thinking of a phrase that starts with a 4-letter word and ends with a ‘you’, ‘off’ or ‘me’)

Do not...I not panic. You are not alone. The writing gods and goddesses have not dumped you out of the muse chariot. maybe they did. They can be a bit bitchy. But fear not, there’s help for you!

See you "in therapy"...Muse Therapy – D. D. Scott style.

Here are our submission guidelines too:

  2. I notice you do not have high sales with smashwords even though they have good returns in royalties. Is there any reason for this, or do you not promote your books much on their site as you seem to sell so much better on B&N and Amazon.

    AJ Burton.

    1. Great question, AJ!

The deal with Smashwords is that you don't sell many to Smashwords itself, rather most of your royalties there come from their channels of distribution.

For example, they distribute to Nook, Sony, Kobo, iTunes, Diesel and now libraries too! Until Nook and Kobo came out with their own platforms, I used Smashwords to distribute to all of these other sites. So, that's why my royalties are great there!

      Does that help?
